JRT Industries was established in April 2001, virtually as an extension of the very successful engraving business we had owned since 1982 in Bundaberg.
Even with the introduction of computerised engraving machines many years prior, the needs of our customers at this time necessitated the continual upgrading of equipment, so when the demand became too great and so varied, we purchased our first MatCam CNC machine capable of handling 2400 x 1200mm sheeting and JRT Industries was born.
Within the first year even though we added an automatic tool changer, that machine also was under too great a demand, so the second MatCam found its home with us. The working hours once again became extended, so we sadly parted with our parent company (Crystalgem Trophies) after 23 years of ownership and have now become the proud owners of yet another (third) MatCam, this time capable of handling sizes of up to 2m x 5metres.
Our top machinist is our son Rick Tapscott, who is a trade qualified mechanical engineer, serving 10 years (including numerous stints as an overseas technician, as well as time in research & development) with Austoft Industries here in Bundaberg.
His passion is classic cars and high performance engines, and he is gradually introducing the machining of components for his engines to the comprehensive list of products.
My wife Val, and I have dedicated the past 35+ years to our family and our businesses, successfully fulfilling the needs of our clientele.
I, Jim Tapscott am proud to offer you all the services of JRT Industries.
